Doctor

  • Dr. James Kuhn , DVM


    Dr. James Kuhn graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. While at the University Dr. Kuhn was the recipient of the Hazel and Edgar F. Ebert Memorial Scholarship in Veterinary Medicine.  He was  elected to the society of Phi Zeta, the honor society of veterinary medicine.  Dr. Kuhn is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.  He was elected to the Veterinary Honor Roll of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundaetion in 2004.

    While Dr. Kuhn enjoys internal medicine cases, he has developed proficiency in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.  He was certified in 1999 by the University of Pennsylvania to perform a special radiographic procedure to screen young dogs for hip dysplasia. Dr. Kuhn is also the program veterinarian for C.H.A.M.P.S, an assistance dog group based in St. Louis.

    In his spare time Dr. Kuhn enjoys spending time at his farm with his wife Mary, daughter Jamie, and his dog Chili Bean.

  • Dr. Kim Klotz , DVM


    Dr. Kim Klotz graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. While in school she was the President of the University's chapter of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association.  She was also awarded the Missouri Bright Flight and Curator's Scholarships. Dr. Klotz is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association,  and the American Animal Hospital Association.

    Dr. Klotz' interests lie in internal medicine of both dogs and cats, and the medicine and surgery of exotic animals. She has attended several continuing education seminars to gain expertise in rabbits, ferrets and birds.

    Dr. Klotz enjoys doing community presentations on veterinary medicine for schools and scouting groups. She and her husband Damon have a little girl named Ashley and a son, Matthew, and share their home with 2 cats (Julie and Claus), a lab named Dillon and a boxer named Spiderman, a sun conure called Tequila Sunrise and three hermit crabs.

  • Dr. Angie Parr , DVM


    Dr. Angie Parr is a 1992 graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  While in school Dr. Parr was a member of the student chapters of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association, the Open House Committee, the University Marching Band, Chorale, and the music honor society. She currently holds memberships with the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri and Kansas Veterinary Medical Associations, and the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association.

    Dr. Parr's special interests include small animal internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She has attended numerous continuing education symposiums on a variety of topics, and has acquired an interest in oncology (cancer diagnosis and treatment) and ophthalmology.

    Dr. Parr married husband Leroy in December of 1989.  He is a guidance counselor with a local elementary school, and also coaches high school football. They have two daughters, Alexandra, who is ten years old and Carly, who is six; one cat Zoe;  one chinchilla named  and one guinea pig named .  Dr. Parr is actively involved in her church's music department, and in her leisure time enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and is an avid college and professional football fan.

  • Dr. Monica Hambalko , DVM


    Dr. Monica Hambalko is a 2003 graduate of the University of  Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Hambalko pursued advanced studies in immunology at Washington University in St. Louis. During veterinary school, she was a member of the student chapters of the AVMA and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. She is currently a member of the AVMA, MVMA, and AAHA.

    While enjoying both companion animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Hambalko has special interests in behavior issues/medicine and sports medicine for the canine athlete. She has attended an applied animal behavior  workshop at the University of Missouri and seminars on canine aggression and positive reinforcement (clicker) training. She also hopes to pursue advanced training in the care and treatment of exotic pets in the future.

    In her spare time, Dr. Hambalko enjoys spending time with her husband Christopher and their four Australian Shepherds, Vegas, Tucson, Penny, and Diego. They actively compete in the fun dog sports of  agility, rally and obedience. Besides agility, Dr. Hambalko enjoys reading, traveling, and SCUBA  diving.

  • Dr. Jennifer Harlin Wilhelm , DVM


    Dr. Jennifer Harlin Wilhelm graduated in 2001 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine (alongside Dr Boeren!). As a student she was a member of the student chapter of the AVMA and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She then returned to the St Louis area to practice small animal medicine, joining the team at Florissant Animal Hospital in April 2004.  She is a current member of the AVMA, and enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and feline
    medicine/surgery.

    Dr. Harlin, her husband Dan, and son Mason (6 months) share their home with a variety of pets:  Dogs- Lilly (3, a German Shorthaired Pointer), and Petunia (3, a Boxer), as well as three cats (Roy 10, Gatsby 9, and Elliot 6).  In their free time, the family enjoys gourmet cooking, camping/fishing,
    movies, and visits with friends.

  • Dr. Jennifer Marquardt


    Dr. Jennifer Marquardt graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. While in school she was a member of the student AVMA, OTS veterinary fraternity, and was awarded the Bil-Jac Scholarship in Nutrition. She spent 2 months at the St. Louis Zoo doing an externship in her last year of school. She is currently a member of AVMA, and the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association.

    Dr. Marquardt worked in small animal veterinary clinics in the Chicago area for 5 years before returning to the St. Louis area. Her main areas of interests are internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She has also had training in ultrasound.

    In her spare time, Dr. Marquardt enjoys traveling, biking and reading. She also enjoys hiking with her husband Philip and their dogs, Lucy and . They also have 2 cats and 2 leopard geckos, Pi and Avogadro.
